The award highlights the efforts of non-governmental organisations to promote the understanding of comprehensive sexuality education; to develop unique advocacy strategies to increase greater acceptance of sexuality education; and to develop innovative sexuality education programs for people of all ages. 31/!: Concurso Fotográfico “Imágenes de Vida”, convocado por la Asociación de Comunicadores Sociales Calandria, con el auspicio del Centro de la Fotografía, la Red SIDA Perú y la APFACOM. 15/2: William H. Foege Fellowships in Global Health. Established by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to honor the career and achievements of a leading public health figure. The new fellowship programme will be housed in the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, where Dr. Foege holds an appointment as Presidential Distinguished Professor. Fellows will be issued a laptop computer when they begin the programme and trained in information retrieval and email. When they leave, they will be encouraged to take their laptops with them and maintain the relationships they have developed in the U.S. via the Internet. Contact: wagner.admissions@nyu.edu

28/2: Foster Davis Fellowships for African Journalists. The Poynter Institute for Media Studies is seeking five fellows for the Foster Davis Fellowships for African Journalists (formally know as The Poynter Institute Southern and South Africa Journalism Fellows Program) who are accomplished journalists positioned for expanded leadership roles. They do not need to be full-time trainers, they do need to have a passion to teach fellow journalists. This means they need already to have acquired some repute as newsroom coaches and mentors, unless the applicant has already demonstrated that passion, it is recommended that they do not apply. 3/3: Health Consequences of Population Change Programme Master's Research Training Fellowships. The Wellcome Trust offers opportunities for research training under its new Health Consequences of Population Change (HCPC) programme which focuses on the changing health outcomes resulting from demographic, socio-economic and lifestyle changes taking place in developing countries; these include migration, health issues of youth and ageing populations, fertility, urbanisation and the environment, risk behaviour shifts, and the adoption of 'developed country' lifestyles. 31/3: Youth Advocates of the Year Awards. Each year the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids holds a nationwide competition to honor outstanding young tobacco prevention advocates and recognises the winners at a gala in Washington, D.C. Four regional winners, a group winner and a national winner are chosen. They receive scholarships and program funds to help them continue their anti-tobacco work. Throughout the year, they remain engaged with the Campaign as local and national spokespersons. Visit the Website for further details.

15/5: Concurso de investigación en bioética<?xml:namespace prefix = o /> “Dr. Mainetti”. Su objetivo es incentivar la investigación en bioética y premiar los avances que se han dado en la materia en el ámbito latinoamericano y del caribe. El premio consistirá en 1000 dólares. 31/5: Premio de investigación sobre Bioética.  Con el fin de premiar y promover la investigación en el campo de la Bioética, la Fundación Víctor Grífols i Lucas convoca un premio dotado con 6000 € . La extensión mínima de los trabajos debe ser de 250 folios escritos en catalán o en castellano indistintamente. Deben presentarse por triplicado en tamaño DinA4, a doble espacio, en la sede de la Fundación. Excepcionalmente, podrán considerarse formatos alternativos. 1/7: Canadian Association of Journalists - Canadian International Development Agency Fellowship. The Canadian Association of Journalists - Canadian International Development Agency Fellowship offers five Canadian journalists each year an opportunity to travel to a developing country to conduct research and broaden their understanding of international issues. Recipients will be chosen by a panel of judges selected by the CAJ based on research proposals and their interests. Applicants must identify the international development-related subject matter they wish to cover during the Fellowship and the reasons for their interest. 8/7: Annual PAHO Caribbean Awards for Excellence in Health Journalism. The Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) seeks submissions for the Annual Caribbean Awards for Excellence in Health Journalism.
